Here's a running record of progress towards the goal of getting something for Popi:
- 2021-05-18: Stumbled across PBGC and started investigating ... seems legitimate. Web-site and phone numbers match publicly available information. See Wiki page for PGGC
- 2021-05-19: Called John at 1-800-400-7242. He wasn't allowed to even look up Popi's name, due to confidentiality. However, he did verify that PBGC is the trustee for the old Pan-Am Pension fund. No further progress can be made until an authorized person calls. This can be either POA, or Popi himself. POA form is linked above.
Next Steps:
- Popi to sign PoA form, or
- Popi to call PBGC at 1-800-400-7242 (5am-4pm PST). Verify eligibility and setup account.
- Setup account
- File claim
